Welcome to Ceremonies With Spirit.
In future posts, I will be discussing my whole "practice' when it comes to celebrating the milestones of life (sounds like a greeting card) and what I think are important moments when creating and executing ceremonies, celebrations and rituals.
But since I've just gotten home from a most wonderful experience - let me tell you about my day:
Guests ranged in costume from Clark Kent & Lois Lane (Clark did have a superman t-shirt on under his suit), King Arthur & Gweneverre, a bunch of gansters and their molls, Marilyn Monroe in a fabu white dress, various escapees from the Renaissance Faire/SCA, a winged Devil, Medusa (the bride's mom), a Chef (who really was the Chef, and prepared the feast as well as being the best man), A Wizard and Witch (who weren't together), a Lumberjack and a Chest of Drawers.
The Ceremony included acknowledgement of Jedi adopting M as his father for real, and taking M's surname going forward, and I have to say was one of the best I've written - certainly it had the most laughs built in. Though everyone got weepy when C&M said their own "spill the heart" words. Rings were exchanged between M&C, and Jedi and M exchanged silver chains - Jedi had picked out a charm that says #1 Dad. It was a beautiful thing to see - and an honor to officiate.
Festivities - socializing - feasting - music - laughter - and then it was time to go home. Another day well done. Many happy years to this newly legalized family!
